Thank you again Hayley Wilson, for finding this wonderful artist for me to interview! Hayley is one of the blog readers.
Diane Bird has been making stained glass since 1992, when she was a science teacher in New Jersey. The psychologist for her school was giving stained glass classes, and she decided that she wanted to make a large carousel horse; stained glass piece for herself... so she took his class. Long story short, she was hooked and ended up taking over teaching his class, and "Equiglas" opened for business in 1995. In New Jersey she did just about anything (and still will), but she now specializes in equine subjects. Diane and her family moved to Virginia in 1999, and now live on a 17 acre horse farm in Lexington, VA with her husband of almost 38 years, their four horses (2 TB's, a QH, and a Polish Arabian), two kitties, and Welsh Corgi named Gumby. She is currently taking dressage lessons on Willie (the Arab),and her husband trail rides the QH, Skip. Diane is a secretary and a Board member of Hoofbeats Therapeutic Riding Center, Inc, and raises money for them and other equine groups through sales of her stained glass.

I adore the first and the last ones - love the fact they aren't just in profile.
