Stall Decor..
Just a few changes here and there..I added a larger picture above the antique trunk. It looks a lot better than the smaller one.
..and a couple of palms..one large and one smaller one.
Still not really liking the Adirondack chairs..
..maybe if I stained them darker they would not stick out so much.. What do you think?

If Money Were No Object...
OMG - just how many times do we (ESPECIALLY horse people) say this? Well just because it is fun to dream..I am going to show you what my stall decorations would look like IF money were no object!
Let's start with my current decor. Please ignore the Christmas garland. I made my stall curtain toppers and I am totally in love with them! They are just conservative enough to fit in...and yet completely different from the 'norm' (aka boring) stripes and solids. They offer a bit of Victorian flair without going totally ginger bread! What I do not care for are the chairs. Adirondack chairs are for the beech...or beside a posh badminton court - but not really suitable for what I want to present...BUT - they do fold up and I happen to already own them..so that is why they accompany me to my shows...for now anyway!
I also throw a bag of messy shavings beneath the chairs - just to give the area definition...
Now - IF money were no object ..this is what I would have beneath my chairs! Maybe a 5x8 foot outdoor medallion rug like this one..with a matching 10x10 for inside the dressing/tack room!
..and to replace the chairs - this is what I would choose. These amazing leather folding chairs with matching foot stools! They have just the 'equestrian' look with a touch of English class and they collapse for easy mobility!
Both of these dream pieces are found in the latest edition of the Frontgate catalog. Sadly the chairs are an unreachable $549.00 EACH. The foot stools are $179.00 EACH. The Medallion Rug is $125.00 for a 5'3"x7'6" and $199.00 for a 10'9"x7'6" size. If you want to drool over these and more top dollar treasures ~ they can be found at www.frontgate.com
This day dream episode was brought on by the fact that my next horse show is this weekend!

Modern Day Horse Show Stall Decorations??
Okay - so am I the only one who really believes that this is an area STUCK in the 50's?
Honestly - horse show barn/stall decor has not changed one bit since then..
..and I am looking for some new ideas. I do not mean to be disrespectful but these are just too boring and blah for my taste.
I want something that pops..something that would stop a spectator and make them want to come and visit...and ask lots of questions. Not anything obnoxious ... or gaudy...just a touch of Victorian, a scent of being expensive and very classy..something like this for summer:
Okay - not exactly the whole tent...but at least the larger black and white stripe as the accent curtains.
Please tell me what do you think!
