Cindy Westbroek is the owner of Wildhorse Fashion. I have her site bookmarked on the side of this blog, but I wanted do a special post about her, her business and about a wonderful gift she received. This post will be about Cindy herself.
To quote Cindy directly:
"I have been fortunate to be able to combine my love of horses, living history/historical reenacting, and sewing into one. I found when I began riding side saddle there were very few affordable resources for clothing and hats- none for period outfits. So through research, trial and error, and a lot of elbow grease, I began making my own clothing and hats. People wanted to know how they could get a habit so I began making them for others. Then I began making and selling a gown here, another there and Wildhorse Fashion was born."
Since the birth of Wildhorse Fashion, Cindy has literally made riding habits for ladies all over the world! She also makes hats, reticules (purses), capes, shawls, accessories, carpet bags, haversacks and men's clothing. Although she specializes in period riding habits of the 1840's, 1860s, 1870s, and 1880s, she also makes modern habits as well.
Cindy is truly a gifted artist. I first found her web site and ordered 2 Chemesettes from her for one of my mid summer shows. I was as amazed at the detail and perfection of the pleats as I was by the reasonable price. Once again Cindy and I are working together to try and reproduce my very favorite sidesaddle suit:
Now - if I can just get my figure this tiny!!

Thank you for telling us folks about Wildhorse Fashion. Have popped over to the website and like it very much.
That's a lovely dress. Thanks for the pointer.
Women always want to be fashionable or to look nice. Why not when riding a horse?
I have EIGHT Wildhorse habits; if you want to check them out I have posted pictures of them on my blog:
