Fashion Question...

This is a fashion plate from 1927 for a sidesaddle suit..

..and it seems that we have a 'like' suit here artistically done in porcelain. This figurine is by Fitz and Floyd...and YES I would love to own it...
BUT..my question though, lies in the length of the apron. When it gets this short .... in MY humble opinion, it looses all mystique and elegance. Might as well be wearing pants ..or worse; the dreaded 1970's SKORT! ..shudder..

Now, I am by no means saying that we should retreat to this..

but what is your idea of the perfect hunting or show sidesaddle apron length?

I agree... longer is better. No one wants to see any more than they need to lol

Hem to the left ankle bone please. I don't like an exposed right foot! And I have seen some aprons so short you can practically see the left knee... why bother I ask?

I think the fashion plate is an apron skirt, something along the line of the modern hunting apron habit. I see the extra length of fabric wrapped to the back and buttoned or clipped up for walking.

Long or short depends on what the discipline is...but either way, it must fit correctly in the waist and hips. OTW, the hem will never hang correctly. It's not so unusual to see that right foot poking out even in long skirts, and that totally spoils the look.
