To Die For ..Saddle!

My eyes almost crossed when I saw this saddle. Oh - words like amazing - beautiful - exqusite...just don't seem to be enough to decribe the beauty and elegance of this one piece of equipment!

..and if that was not enough - YES..that is a monogram sewn into the seat of this piece of art!

Did you happen to notice that this is an off side sidesaddle?

I noticed that right away --- why an off-side saddle? Preference? Or is there some other reason that I'm not aware of? It is gorgeous, love the monogram on the seat. Now stop drooling over it!!!

Sadly - no story was found with this photo.. so I am not sure why it was made as an off side. Most likely since it is a custom made saddle..it was purely preference.

Too bad, it would be interesting to hear why they chose an off-side saddle as opposed to the traditional one. Would be left-handed vs right-handed make any difference? Perhaps the owner had a physical problem that made the off-side saddle more appropriate? Just love the saddle, though, and my initials *are* LH... :-)

Would a left handed / left bodied person feel more comfortable in an off side saddle? Or is it definitely just person preference for what ever reason? Just wondering as a lefty who has never ridden sidesaddle.

Lovely saddle. If I was to ride aside I would need an off-side saddle because I shattered my left knee years ago and I can not trust it completely.

No matter what the discipline, all of us horsewomen have a weakness for beautiful saddles lol
