More Christmas Goodness!

This is not a post about my faith.. although I will say that it is because of my faith that I celebrate Christmas and the birth of Christ! This is a post about the season of Christmas...so go and grab a cup of something wonderful, sit down for a minute and enjoy!

Have you ever thought that even though we have 'more' things to give and get these days for Christmas.. it really does not 'feel' more like Christmas time? Does that make sense? Let me describe it in another way. When I think about times that have ushered in the Christmas Spirit and warmed my heart, it is always events when I slowed down.. did something special with someone I love. I slowed down and took the time to put details into something I was making. I slowed down to enjoy all of the decorations I had worked so hard to put up.

I used to try and follow many many different blogs. I don't do that anymore. Instead, I have chosen more than a few that I felt I have a connection with. There are my sidesaddle riding girls, whom I have to keep up with just to see what fun they are up to.

There are some interior decorators who seem to know my style. I get inspiration from them. Last, but certainly not least, there are those women who although I have never met, I feel that we have forged a friendship. That only happens if you are willing to open yourself up and let others get to know you.

I try very hard to be open and honest in my blogs. this one is specific to something I love. I have said it before and I will continue to say it.. I am not a sidesaddle expert... I just LOVE it. Love doing it, learning more about it and sharing it!

So with that, I just wanted to take a minute and say thank you. I am glad you enjoy my blog. I am super glad there are other ladies out there who are as smitten with sidesaddle riding and history as I am, and I just love it when you stop to leave a comment or take the time to send me an e-mail. I have learned so much from you all.I promise to work hard for as long as I can to continue to bring you new and interesting sidesaddle news, history and just plain fun trivia. I pray more and more ladies join the fun we are having, both in the sidesaddle and in front of the computer. I know I have enjoyed this journey. I hope it goes on for years and years to come!

Remember, relax.. take time to take in the beautiful winter sights, sounds, smells and dole out lots of love to those you cherish!

So to all, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Seasons Greetings!! I so cherish each and every one of you!

Oh, to me you are a serious expert. I am a sidesaddle wan-a-be who chanced on a loaner side saddle to try. I was confused about the extra straps. Managed to attach the saddle to my big-ol-appy and walked to the mounting block. Managed to get on - astride and then got both legs aside. OH MY. and we were standing STILL. My horse is used to direction with both legs and he really would rather stand to be admired. So, moving off was interesting and felt very precarious. I can't imaging a trot or canter - never mind jumping. Clearly, I need some lessons and an experienced friend to emulate.... Know anyone in OK? Have a happy aside new year. c
