More Art!
I have to admit, since I have taken an interest in sidesaddle...I seem to notice all things aside! Look at this lovely painting! Wouldn't you love to own this?
...or just a different angle makes this one so unique..
..or if UNIQUE is what you are looking for.....

Another Antique Sidesaddle!
This sidesaddle predates the ones I would want to restore and use for myself unless I wanted to do a totally historic theme.
It has a carpet bag material seat..
..and a rail around the off side so the rider could literally sit more sideways.
Love the historical roll it plays though!

I Love My Readers!..
..because 99.9% of them know more than I do about riding aside!
Anyway - Sunvalleysally told me this:
Look for a picture of Patience Prine-Carr jumping sidesaddle over a 4-plus-foot fence at the Scottsdale All-Arabian show on her big chestnut - the straight-on shot made all the horse magazines that year and it was pretty impressive!
I tried like crazy to find that picture and all I came up with was this one...which is of Patience, but sadly I know this is not the horse you were talking about. This horse is obviously a bay - not a chestnut and the jump is not 4' tall....still VERY impressive though! ...and I sure hope the dog standing on the opposite side of the jump did not get hurt!
If anyone does find that particular photo, I would love to put it in the blog as it deserves all the credit!

Okay - A Few Days Late!
...but a friend Kathie Dunn, sent me this sidesaddle picture of she and her Mother riding in a St. Patrick's Day Parade! The horse on the left is wearing a complete parade saddle ensemble which can weight as much as 250 pounds! This one weighs about 100 pounds.
Thanks Kathie!!! You both look gorgeous!!

Delay Over
This is Chastain. I used this picture because he was a real Butt Head about getting into the horse trailer to go to my instructors farm to start my side saddle lessons. We had to delay the lessons for over a week so we could stop and reteach him how to load...
..in This! He has been a show horse forever - but with really big barns. I am guessing that my trailer is a bit low class for him! HA HA!

SASHA Horse Show
Meet Kristen Moore. She is only 14 years old and yet such a nice sidesaddle rider! This is her getting ready for an Arabian sidesaddle class at the SASHA show.
This was Kristen's second time showing aside. She rides with a farm called Ride Style Farm.
Here she is after being awarded the first place ribbon.
I wish I could say her class was full - but it was not. Kristen however made a spotless ride and a stunning presentation! Not sure if you can tell since her whole outfit is black, but here she is removing the sidesaddle skirt (or apron) before she dismounts.

This is Not About Sidesaddle Riding but...
I have made a reference here and there about my husband being ill. Until now, it was his wish that I not speak publicly about it. He has had a change of heart though and due to the dangers of this many times, symptomless disease, he has allowed me to tell his story...through my eyes. I love you Don!

Stock Pins
If you ride Hunt Seat Aside, you would wear a Stock Tie and accessorize it with a stock pin. Look at the exquisite ones I found!

Since I will be riding in Saddleseat classes, I am required to wear a mans tie .. :0(

Remember this Impakt Saddle pad? It is made from a special foam like material and adheres to the back of a horse (wihtout chaffing) and the underside of a saddle (if it is leather) like glue!...
..boy was I excited about this since I am a beginner. So for the heafty price of $150.00+ I ordered one. Well, I got an e-mail from the company advising that the sidesaddle pad has been discontinued.. Again I repeat :0(
