Drive safe! And take LOTS of pictures!!
Is this the show you're riding sidesaddle in with your new skirt?

If it makes you feel any better it was -27 (celcius) this morning and we're expecting another blizzard tomorrow. Ick. Ick. Ick.

After four continuous decades of horse shows and skiing, my two passions, it finally got through my thick skull not to show in the snow or ski in the rain, for that matter.

Julie, I assume you know some tips and tricks for safe horse hauling in the snow? Otherwise, "just say no." There is nothing more dangerous than a horse trailer behind a pickup truck on ice. Really. NOTHING. Not worth the entry fees!

Michelle - where is your locale? Remind me never to move there!!! I'm in the Pacific NW where we are already breaking records for low temps, expecting snow Monday, all the cars already packin' studs and I'm not talkin' "boy horses" here....and it's not even really winter yet....

I'm up in Alberta, watching the snow come down heavily as I type this. We're expecting 15 cm of snow today and another 20 cm overnight. Yay..... The one good thing about the snow is that it generally warms up a bunch when it clouds over. It's only -3(celcius) today. Still a good thing the ponies are all bundled up!

It was about 39 when I hauled and it did not start snowing until I got there. Temps did not go to freezing until about 9pm. The hardest part was navigating the mud in the parking lot!!!

Michelle - temps like that make me question global warming..ha ha. Holy Cow..I would not know how to act if I had to deal with that!! What does -27C translate to in F? ...answer..way too cold for me! Take care of yourself and your animals!

Yes - this is the Christmas show and tomorrow I will be wearing the red plaid skirt I made... but best of all, my 85 year old Father is coming to watch me!!!

I agree with you there! We're expecting even colder weather tomorrow (-35ish...yuck!!!). I've cancelled all my lessons and the ponies have several blankets on each and I'm planning on making a quick run out to the barn today but that's it! Too cold for any riding at all. I was really hoping I could get the sidesaddle out today though... :( Guess it'll have to wait.
