Pepto and Advil. You forgot those.

Also a homeopathic muscle relaxant for tummy butterflies or foot cramps before you head into the ring.

A high quality cognac works just as well for all of the above.

Without consulting my own detailed list....Bungees, surge protector, garbage bags, paper towels, fire extinguisher

Oh - very good suggestions! I have the extinguisher in the trailer..but did not even think about a trash bag and paper towels!

Here are some extras with my years of showing that help a whole hell of a lot.

IN THE HORSE STALL
Curtains. Some horses get really stressed out and appreciate the privacy.
Bleach and water solution for cleaning the stall before your horse goes into it. THIS IS A MUST HAVE you can also buy pre-made stall cleaner at your tack store. Will prevent your horse from contacting a possible illness that another horse that used that stall might have had. Think sinus and eye infections first and possibly worse if the stall is not disinfected.

FIRST AID KIT
Stall bandages
instant cold compress packs (you can get them at the dollar store usually they turn cold when you break the bags inside of them, very handy)

IN THE ISLE – MISC.
Baling twine. It has a million uses.
Vip ties.

HORSE GROOMING EQUIPMENT
Go to the local auto section in wal-mart or other department store and get a sheepskin car washing mitt. It makes show sheen work 10x better by bringing the natural oils to the skin and picking up dust.
Baby wipes: A MUST HAVE!! Unscented but say you give your horse a bath and the dust from stall shavings, arena etc settles on his coat this picks it up in no time at all. I wouldnt be at a show without them. Also good for quick tack and hand wipes.
I find that a spray bottle of 1/4 gel and 3/4 water works best for braiding it isnt sticky but makes hair stick down and easy to braid.

TACK
Saddle wipe cleaner.
Pledge for your boots. It keeps dust off them so you just wipe them easy before going into the ring. Always remember to have clean boots.
EXTRA halter and lead. Just in case.

JULIE’S SUPPLIES
Bobby pins
safety pins (numbers etc)
Hairspray (for horse and human)

TOOLS
Scissors
Leatherman(or similar multitool but leatherman are the best they have pliers, knife, corkscrew, wire cutters, ruler, etc in one dont go anyplace without mine)

Oh don't forget fly spray!

Cool Sydney - thanks for all the new suggestions!! I should have pointed out that my 'black bag' is both my makeup and hair bag and contains such!

Love the idea about spraying the stall (especially the nasty bars) before they go in!!!

I didn't see it on the list: number magnets/pins.

bounce dryer sheets are great for wiping the face and ears to keep bugs away....instead of putting fly wipe on the horses face. I know it sounds strange but it really works. Good luck at the show!

Do you have anything for the floor in your tack room? I didn't see anything on your list. We have those kids floor mats that link together and they are a lifesaver keeping show clothes clean while changing. A decent sized utility rug or a piece of "astro turf"(you can get that at a home supply store)something you can spray off and store easily.

I have updated my list saved on a Word File several times with all of your suggestions..but just have not done it on this post.

I wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to help me. Nothing worse than getting out of town and realizing that you forgot something that you have at home...and have to go and buy another one..just because you forgot it!
