Not Just For The Girls!

Here is a bit of riding fashion history with men in mind!


Trousers gradually gained popularity but did not begin to eclipse into breeches until the 1820s. The fir of trousers in the Empire period was narrower than the baggy styles of the 1790s. To reinforce the slender look, instep straps (stirrups) were attached to the cuffs to prevent the legs from riding up.
