Bella Equus...

Many many years ago, my Grandfather introduced me to the world of American Saddlebreds. I was smitten from the very first glance! Years later, a woman in California started breeding for color in this breed without sacrificing talent. This was her stallion Chubasco. I remember seeing this wonderful creature and ever since I desired to own a Saddlebred Pinto.

Chubasco has long passed, but with the high standard that he created , other wonderful Pinto stallions started to emerge, one of which is this beauty, aptly named Racing Stripe! This is who we bred our best brood mare with, obviously hoping for a Pinto baby.

I won't lie. I had visions....

..and dreams ....

..and I even prayed over Brittany as she was bred and during her long pregnancy term...

..at last, it was not to be. Brittany gave birth last week to a very long legged bay colored filly that will be named Bella Equus.

But - I do believe that God has a plan...for the name Bella Equus was sewn into my heart years ago!

What a cutie-patootie! If you decide you just CAN'T live with another bay, I would SO save you from that terrible fate! LOL Congrats on a beautiful and spunky filly!

Always remember "a good horse is never a bad color". I know you just love her to pieces even if she have been born purple w/ green polka dots.

Soooo, I think you should repeat that breeding! She's a pretty little thing! Even if you get another solid one...still GORGEOUS!!!

I used to drool over Chubasco and his get as a kid. I grew up riding ASBs. They're pretty awesome horses. If I ever get a second horse, it may very well be an ASB. I doubt I'll be able to afford one with such awesome breeding though. :(
