Spanish Sidesaddle

This Spanish styles sidesaddle was sold on e-bay quite a while ago. I just love the detailed tooling on it.

There was no age information on it, but because it has the rail, I can only imagine that it is quite old.It sold for $550.00.

that's pretty. although I don't know HOW you people stay in a side saddle when the horse is moving. I would SO fall off!!

I would think that the rail would be more difficult to sit with. Is it?

Saddle is beautiful. I wonder if the rail could be removed??? That is what I would like to have if I could ever do sidesaddle. I might be able to swing $550!

The pommels are so short and tiny on it, can't imagine the rider would have done anything more than a walk on it. Probably that's why it survived all these years as it was unrideable!

What if it was for a gaited horse? A paso?
