Remember this outfit? I wore it the very first time I showed sideaddle. I loved it, but there were issues. I hate the way my skirt was hanging ~ so strange for some reason...
I made the silk skirt and it was a bit slippery. I had not started to use the saddle seat cover which offers a bit more stability. My trainer gave me the jacket and after looking at these pictures, I was unhappy with the length of it.. so I shortened it by 6 inches.
I purchased a beautiful cream colored vest to wear with this outfit. Sorry I do not have a picture of it yet...
..and I am replacing the derby with a brown top hat!
The sidesaddle class for my next show will be in the evening, so I was thrilled when one of my friends and readers offered to sell me her brown beaver top hat! It is the right size and is in perfect condition! Thank you Brita!!!
Here are a couple of pictures of Brita wearing this hat.
Doesn't she look elegant?! I hope it looks half as nice when I wear it on the 5th of March!

Looks like you're having fun! Thanks for stopping by!
That will look great with your outfit! I hope someone takes lots and lots and lots of pictures of you at your next show!
Wow, I am so glad I found your blog; I am getting an education of riding aside! I think your outfit looks lovely, the skirt is gorgeous! I love browns, rusts, olive greens all fall type colors. The new hat is also beautiful. The hats, skirts, jackets and all the trimmings are so elegant, love it!
I don't think I would be good at riding that way. My balance isn't as good as it once was, I can see me hitting the ground!
Does your leg that is over the horn? (probably calling it wrong) get tired? Just curious.
Very pretty and elegant!
So very pretty. I wish hunter/jumper clothing were even close to that much fun to mix and match!
That brown jacket compliments Olivers coat so much. Good choice.
It does present an elegant picture. I will be waiting to see how the show goes for you and Oliver. Good luck!!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog all the way over in Africa - it's nice to 'meet' you ! Both you and your horse look very smart & elegant, I must say :)

Great outfit! All the best for the show!
Love the brown and rust palette on your horse. Like the silk skirt, but it apparently didn't have the weight needed to hang correctly. :-(
Melton wool used in traditional pinks is a pretty stout fabric. Good for a frosty autumn morning, not so much for a mid-summer show. But there are some really nice lightweight wools and wool blends that would have the body you need to drape your skirt appropriately.
Good luck putting together your show outfit. Enjoying watching it come together.
