Oh Lord - Look What I Did...

This is our broodmare Britt. She has been left open the last 3 seasons because of our own 'economy'! Her registered name is My Genius' Brittany and she was actually a rescued horse...but that is another story. She has superior American Saddlebred bloodlines. I own 2 foals out of her - 1 being a filly that was at her side when she was rescued in the above picture. Well Britt is getting older and I want to breed her at least one more time....

...so I bid on this stallion from the Texas Futurity Auction...and won! This is Racing Stripe....and

...well gosh - words just seem to fail me because these pictures say it all!

Yeah - it would be really cool to get a pinto baby...but the chances are small. Never stops me from dreaming though!

Julie, this is Brita's Mom for the second try at commenting to your wonderful blog. I soooo love your blog! This stallion and that you chose and won his breeding has me very thrilled for you! And...has me wanting to breed our rescue mare a second time. Good bloodlines with some color surpises possible is what I love at foaling time!!

Gee thanx Jules... hopefully Mom can live vicariously through you and look forward to you blogging about YOUR foal ;-)

BTW: Stripe is pretty neat. We bred to his grandsire, and I've always liked the bloodline.

I'm a Hunter at heart, but WOW! I thought Britt looked stunning then saw the stud... what a match!

Stunning!! Look at his leg action! Wow! He's gorgeous and, with your lovely mare, you will be having a beautiful foal next spring.

That's very exciting!

I think he is amazing in the photos; how jaw-dropping it would be to see him in action. Not sure I could ride it, though. Never have ridden a gaited horse like that!!!

OMG - what beautiful animals! Anticipating the results of this match!

He's gorgeous! But how does his tail stand up like that so high? Are horses like this born that way, or are their tails broken to stand up?
He's very unique. I bet a foal from him would be amazing.

RS's first foal for me was the exact colouring of her Clydesdale X father. I didn't see the sire of Shchimmerella as horsey friends arranged the whole thing for me, but Shchimm is an almost exact copy of her mum. She didn't take with the stallion (now in America) that she went to last year. We're hoping that a black & white Gypsy Cob Draught has covered her, so the foal should be interesting ~ same colour as Dad? (Arnie (ist sire) was a brown & white version of Pinch (current), so will the Clydie come through?) Pinch also covered my daughter's pony to give me a mount that might carry my weight, but not be too big ~ this one could be quite a looker ~ we shall see...

Currently waiting to see what pups my Beddy gives me. She shouldn't even be pregnant, but the injection failed. My boy dog couldn't get his act together to cover her, so it looks as if Daddy might be a Heinz 57 or an Alsatian, unless she found another dog we don't know about... Her last litter was sired by a BC X (after I'd asked the Dog Warden to remove the stray that turned up early 1 morning ~ he left after 6 months & I'm still waiting for the Dog Warden!), so I had terrier sheepdogs! Very pretty, very loving, very gentle, but very noisy alarm dogs (~ I think I would have to defend them, but they do warn me if people come or if any of my animals go where they shouldn't)
