There have been times when I was showing that I had VERY long extensions in...okay - like Barbie long! (stop laughing..) My 'hair' was so long and so thick it was impossible to wrap it into a simple bun. This is what I had to do, with the addition of an invisible hair net. Although pretty, my hair, even twisted up, would usually fall below my shoulders which I did not like.
I would have liked to have used this - a snood, but was not sure if it was acceptable in any show ring....
My thoughts are that using a snood assures that very long hair would make a nicer presentation since it is about the only thing that would keep the hair above the shoulders, but in all my research, I have never seen it addressed in either a positive or negative way.

Hi. Thanks for stopping by my blog. We have 2 horses, which I don't ride :O), but my husband loves them. I'm a city girl that now lives in the country and it's taken a little getting used too. Well, I guess I'll poke around your blog for awhile. Come visit my blog and say hi anytime.
Very interesting 'dos.'
I don't do horses, but I love to see them.
Thanks for visiting my blog. Come back again!
Hi Julie! Thanks for stopping by at my blog.
It's always great to have new visitors from the States, expecially Texas. I used to live there on a horse ranch for almost nine months back in 1998.
I loved it.
Your blog is very interesting. I know that more and more women start to ride side saddle again, especially in Austria, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.
I think it's cool, I have never had the chance to sit in a side saddle though.
:)
Greetings from Sweden!
Hi, thanks for stopping by my blog, it's always great to get new visitors and then check out their blogs also. I love your blog, the old pictures of sidesaddle riding are very neat, and I admire you for bringing back a long ago left behind way of riding! Your braver than me though, I think I would be on the ground if I attempted it! Come back and visit any time...

Thanks for stopping by Fern Valley! I am excited to read your blog,I have always wondered about sidesaddle. Off to check it out!
Thank you for visiting my blog. I have always wanted to try it, but am worried I would tip over.
I love your hair woes! I have longish hair....and wonder what I would do with it for a show. Some kind of bun, probably. I have naturally blonde hair but do foil it lighter blonde. Now, I am thinking of doing something crazy! I want to go dark underneath, and blonde on top. My co-worker did it and I loved it! :) I am afraid to cut my hair too short, though. No above the shoulders for me, and it's been years since I even did at the shoulders. I love long hair.
I'm always glad to meet new friends! Thanks for leaving a comment, I love them<3 I also enjoyed visiting your blog, you have a gift in writing. I love, love historical fiction! Jane Kirkpatrick is one of my favorite's! I look forward to reading more from you:) God Bless!
