A Friend's Collection..

I have a sidesaddle enthusiast friend, Brita, whom has a beautiful collection of Sidesaddle art. She has collected these prints, show program covers and posters for years and sent them to me to share with you!

I could never pick just one as my favorite..

How about you...

Which one is your favorite?

Okay - so this one is my favorite!

No - wait - this one is..

I like that these riders are Saddleseat riders. I've seen lots of art featuring hunt seat side saddle riders, but few ladies riding aside Saddleseat style.

Oh - you are right ...I should have told you that Brita is a Saddleseat enthusiast and owns a Saddlebred!

I love these pictures. I love the couple ones especially.

I can't pick a favorite, but I love the habit in the green one with the collie and the dalmation. If (no...WHEN) I get around to showing side saddle, I am going retro. I like the hat, and the thought of a linen or khaki colored habit.

Ohh - Smartalex...you are going to LOVE the Spring suit I have in the makeing! Skirt is done ..but jacket still needs to be tweeked. It was made from a vintage pattern and the arm holes were too tight - so that is being reworked..

Other than that - it is a mock- linen..all the elegance excpet for the wrinkles! Can be worn with either cream or brown appointments...I can't wait to show in it!

Those are all beautiful pictures. I'd be interested in knowing your source(s) for vintage clothing patterns.

I like the Sears Harness one. I can't imagine any lady in her right mind wearing that color pink in those days. Did they??

All are great. I'll go with horses and dogs.

I love how elegant all the prints that you've posted make riding aside appear. Completely disguises how darned difficult it is!
