1873 Fashion Plates for a Sidesaddle Riding Suit

I have GOT to figure out something I can use to decoupage these prints on!

Why not make 3 cameo plates with these and hang in a trio by ribbons on a wall in either your library, den or dressing room? I see these ideas in Victoria magazine a lot, and I think these three lovely prints decoupaged onto pale bisque oval "plates" which have perforated rims - not sure where you find those but I've seen pix - hung with satin ribbons as a tryptich? Just a thought.

Oh Lord! Sally - now I know that we have to be related! I own every Victoria magazine except for the 1st one...and the only reason I do not own it, is because the only time I have seen it on E-bay ..the price has been something like $60.00!

As for the other part... umm I don't have a library...or a dressing room ..and the den - well I have a small one of those, but have used up every available inch of wall space already! ha ha...

I have boxes of V but also not the first issue for the simple reason I hadn't discovered it in time. I am however really disappointed that toward the end of the first round of Victoria it had launched itself into the stratosphere on expensive featured items. I mean, come on, there was one scarf (just one) that was $4,500...that buys a full year of really nice hay so wasn't even tempted. I do think the current round of Victoria is of the same editorial mind which is the greater the cost of featured items - whether "favorite things" or fashions or furnishings - the better. I disagree and think that with some effort that beautiful things/trips/life are really truly out there at less than a queen's ransome in cost. Beauty and good design should not be reserved as in olden times for only the very wealthy!

I like the idea of the cameo plates!
The first thing I thought of was a Victorian style hatbox.
