Doesn't he do some beautiful art work? He did a series of cartoons about women and men courting on horseback and feeling sorry for the horse.

You all might like another artist of the same generation as Charles Dana Gibson where the horses (and dogs) are a bit better drawn: Harrison Fisher. IMHO these two were among the very first to be considered "serious" artists who in retrospect blurred the then-demarcation between serious artists and commercial artists.

Have you heard of Carole Mercer? She rides her Morgans sidesaddle and does a tandem thing with them. She's 65 or 66 and does it all sidesaddle - pretty amazing :).
