OMG - OMG - OMG....

I did it...I took a HUGE chance and did it. I bought a side saddle! ...and I have taken a Enormous risk because I bought it off of e-bay..just what everyone told me not to do. Why???

1. The seller had a 100% approval rating.
2. The saddle is a Champion and Wilton.
3. I got it for a price that I could afford AND even if it does not fit my horse, I feel like I could easily get back what I paid for it, to invest into another one. BTW - I purposely overexposed these pictures to see the details.

Please please leave a comment if you are knowledgeable. I would love some feed back.

The seller posted a ton of pictures of the saddle...

Am I nervous??...

Yes! Until I get the saddle, see it, feel it and lay it on my horses back...

...I will be very nervous about this purchase!

..but you will be with me all the way..

..so good or bad, I will let you know what happens!~

That is a very narrow sidesaddle, with hardly any gullet clearance. Did you get a gullet and point-width measurement and compare it to your horse?

Narrow sidesaddles are almost impossible to sell now-adays, as narrow horses are so hard to find.

I did not realize it was as narrow as others have told me. It is true that it may not fit Chastian. My thought was that if it was restuffed, it might work a bit better. I obviously could be wrong, and will know soon enough. Funny thing is, I have a young (4)horse that I'll bet it would fit. The previous owner and I exchanged many e-mails and she rode on a 1/2 Arab - 1/2 Saddlebred. I do hope it works for me. My finances are restricted due to a family illness and I just cannot do this if I have to buy a $1500.00+ saddle..and then put more money into it so it will fit. A professional told me that was how much I would need. I did not pay what the e-bay bidder was asking for the saddle and I felt like if I had to - I could sell it for the amount I invested. Maybe I was wrong..but I do have a lot of connections into the Saddlebred world.

Thank you so much for your comment. I wish you were not listed as Anonymous - so I could ask you more questions.
