Hey you.... YES YOU!
I know that you are reading this.. because my stats say that there are over 5000 hits on this one blog per month... YET, I only get about, in total, 30 replies per month on the posts. In fact.. I actually get more personal e-mails from readers than I do replies!
SOOO.. I need you to fill out this survey of who you are and where you are from:
1. I am a real person who rides sidesaddle.
2. I am a real person who does not ride sidesaddle.
3. I am a real person that does not ride.
4. I am not a real person.
The author of this blog needs some encouragment every once in a while. PLEASE post a reply.. even if it is to just say HI.
This has been a public service announcement from your internet friend and sidesaddle entertainment coordinator - Julie.
Not a real person! HEE HEE! Naw, I do get out to ride once in a while thanks to the pity of my friends. Never ridden sidesaddle formally, but pretended as a kid on my western saddle.
ReplyDeleteI am a real person that rides, just not sidesaddle. I love reading your blog.

Real person, rides aside, though no aside mount at the moment.
ReplyDeleteJulie....I thought you retired your blog. Go figure, I've been a bit out of touch.

ReplyDeleteI tried to retire it.. but the powers that be told me it was a mistake.. I almost gave up on my dream of riding aside too though.
ReplyDeletetranslated.. THANK YOU GOD!
I ride and I ride aside too! Thanks for your blog and you do such a great job. I just started one and have to get the hang of it but I do have some pictures posted from the ISSO clinic weekend! Check it out...

ReplyDeleteI am a real person who rides sidesaddle! Although most of the time either me or Hattie is "broken", sometimes both at the same time! :p
ReplyDeleteI'm a real person! I ride endurance and dressage on my Arab. Don't have a sidesaddle yet, but its on the list of things to try some day!
ReplyDeleteI love living vicariously through you for now!

I am a real person and I read your blog almost daily. I love it but often don't have much to contribute in the way of comments.
ReplyDeleteI ride but not aside as I haven't found an instructor in the Portland Metro area. Still hoping to try it.
I'm a real person who needs to get back into any kind of riding before I go insane!
ReplyDeleteI'm a real person! I grew up riding Saddleseat and now practice Dressage on my (spotted) National Show Horse. I would love to learn sidesaddle one day...maybe in 10 years when my boy is old and bombproof.
ReplyDeleteI am a real person that rides, but not sidesaddle.
ReplyDeleteI aspire to ride sidesaddle one day, though!
LOL. I am a real person who rides astride.
ReplyDeleteHowever! I love watching the sidesaddle classes at all-Arabian shows, especially period riding habits.
And! I love, love, love the pictures and antiques that you share with us on your blog.
Hi Julie!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the number of visits! I read your blogs pretty often, and have so for quite some time--over 2 years?
I have horses but have never rode aside.
I don't ever comment, but please know that I'm here and I enjoy reading your blogs!

I am a real person! I ride aside and astride. I am going to attempt my first show both with this horse and the sidesaddle. Should be interesting. Somewhat concerned that the judges might not know what to do with me, I am going to ride in a "Ladies Gaited" class in the local horse show association, I also may show the "Slow Gaited" class, whatever that is. I am also known in the Blog world as Tacky Tack of the Day
ReplyDeleteHi, I am real person, I ride h/j, LOVE sidesaddle, but haven't tried it yet, soo elegant... maybe someday :)
ReplyDeleteClick my pic to go to a link to my horsie blog, xoxo!

I am a real Person who raises western-working Morgans in Wyoming. No sidesaddle riding! But I really enjoy your blog!
ReplyDeleteI ride aside, and I read your blog all the time. Its just that often I can't think of anything witty or interesting to add to the comments! :)
ReplyDeleteI love it, not a real person! LOL! I ride but not sidesaddle. I hope to eventually but no one in my area rides sidesaddle or teaches it. So for now I live vicariously through your blog. Love it and keep up the good work!

ReplyDelete2. I am a real person who does not ride sidesaddle.

LOL would love to say not a real person but sadly I am so I am a real person who rides but not sidesaddle (yet).
ReplyDeletePresent and accounted for as a #1.
ReplyDeleteBut then, you knew that.
I'm a real person who does not ride sidesaddle, or much of any saddle anymore. My Arabian is retired and her pasture-mate is sweet as pie on the ground, but isn't broke to ride.
ReplyDeleteI've always wanted to try sidesaddle. Someday I will.
Your blog is great!
I am a real person, who rides, and is in the process of acquiring a sidesaddle so I can ride. :)
ReplyDeleteI am always checking to see what's new with Riding Aside! I'm "The Grey Horse's" Mom. I love your blog!
ReplyDeleteSome ppl say I can't possibly be a real person... but as far as I know, I am one. Desire to ride SS, but have not the funds for a proper SS yet, so just dreaming (and mostly lurk, but DO enjoy the posts!) for now :) Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteReal person! USED to ride sidesaddle, and will again! :) I always keep up with the blog. I'm still tickled that you featured my Danny and I in you trail riding aside post!
ReplyDeleteI'm real too!
ReplyDeleteI ride a one-eyed chiropractically challenged TB (you can check us out here: http://pirateandred.blogspot.com/), but you couldn't get me in a side saddle if you tried! I feel much safer with a leg on either side of the horse. However, I LOVE reading about sidesaddle and seeing the picture and observing the culture. I love looking at all disceplines, even if I don't ride in them.
I am a real person that rides, just not sidesaddle. I would love to learn, but unfortunatly just not in the cards right now! Howdy from Wisconsin!
ReplyDeleteHello from Florida! I'm a real person who does not ride sidesaddle, but used to pretend (about 40 years ago on my pony's western saddle). Would love to ride sidesaddle, but I don't see it in the cards as yet. I ride a TWH in an endurance saddle.
ReplyDeleteLove your blog, subscribe to RSS and enjoy it very much. Love to see the pictures and get inspired by you. Keep up the good work.
2. I am a real person who does not ride sidesaddle.
ReplyDeleteI'm from Sydney, and I just added your blog to my Google Reader feed a couple of weeks ago. So far, so good!
A real person. Who had her own horse and used to ride. English but never aside. Love your blog for the combination of horse and vintage content.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your progress in riding aside.
I am a real person, and I ride (dressage / eventing) but I haven't had a chance to ride sidesaddle, yet!
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a commentor, but I love reading!

ReplyDeleteHey Julie,
ReplyDeleteIt's Cheryl. I'm real. The person part depends on the day (stupid mood swings) just ask my husband! Anyway, I used to ride..... until about four months ago. I rode English, western and was starting side saddle. I had to stop (silly doctors) because I'm pregnant with our first child (just found out it's a boy). I still take care of my two horses, just no riding right now. Cheer up, we're all reading and we love you for it!
#5 I am a real person who WANTS to ride side saddle...

ReplyDeleteHellooo! I'm a real person who rides dressage, but not sidesaddle. I grew up riding hunters and jumpers, and had an instructor that rode both dressage and Corinthian hunters aside -- and I've always wanted to learn :)
ReplyDeleteI am a real person in Ontario who has ridden sidesaddle once and would love to do so again.
ReplyDeleteMegan
Real person too! I do ride sidesaddle. I am from MN and I love your blog. It is nice to see what new sidesaddle things are on your blog!
ReplyDeleteReal (Canadian) person who rides aside (also astride). I am also the owner of a NON-real person who rides aside (my only Breyer model). I love your blog because I, too, find sidesaddle to be as fascinating as it is fun and elegant.
ReplyDeleteHi I ride sidesaddle, but need a new saddle for the new horse.
ReplyDeleteI am a real person that does not have time to ride! I manage a stable in western NY, we have 27 horses and a donkey. I also have a 4 year old daughter. So, yea, no time for me to ride, I do find time for my daughter to ride, though!
ReplyDeleteI may or may not be real. I live in Australia and though I don't ride, I do collect and show model horses, and create model horse tack. Your blog has great reference pictures for sidesaddles, so that's why I'm here!
ReplyDeleteMost days I'm a real person. Other days I wish I wasn't. I've ridden side saddle once, and am itching to do it again. I do ride astride normally.
ReplyDeleteReal person rode sidesaddle this weekend at a competition and totally love the blog. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm Angela and I'm a real person who does ride, but I don't ride sidesaddle. I would love, love, love to, but on a limited budget and with a gigantic horse (19.1hh 2400lb Percheron!!), I'll have to stick to dressage for now.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting me live vicariously through your experiences!
Real person, most of the time... I ride hunt and western astride on my little arab cross - 1/4 Saddlebred :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to try sidesaddle. I don't have anyone to coach me, nor can I afford to purchase yet another saddle right now. You truly are an inspiration, and some day I will try it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Hello! I ride but not really aside. The closest I've come is once in a saddle and goofing off a few times bareback as a kid.
ReplyDeleteReal person who rides astride, and secretly wishes she COULD ride aside and lives vicariously through your posts! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI am a real person that rides occasionally, but not sidesaddle. I'm a historical costumer and reenactor and I found your blog while I was looking for pictures of Victorian riding habits. I love your blog, not just for the habits, but the accessories and info on riding etiquette also. Keep it up!
