Old Photos....
I love to look at really old photographs...and obviously old sidesaddle photos! Take a minute and enlarge each of these pictures and REALLY look at them. Not just the horse and rider, but also take in the background and try to imagine yourself living in that era...
..wouldn't you just love to be able to be there for just a day...a week ..or even a year, just to experience their everyday lives?

I might like to try living in the past for an afternoon or two, but I'll give you two reasons I wouldn't want it to be longer. Tampons and dentistry! :)
I was most definitely born in the wrong era! I would have loved to live back then.
I love old photos too. I like that last one best I think; such a big horse and a tiny lady atop.
Oh, yes, I would love to travel back in time to live like that. And since we are dreaming here, I want to live at Biltmore Estate (Vanderbilt Manson) in Ashville, NC.
What a home, I could get used that for SURE!!!! And what a place to ride too!!!

I think 99% of the people who think they'd prefer living 100 years ago would return to the present very fast once they actually experienced it.
Beautiful! I love old photos, I too get lost in the time period. Wonder who that woman was, what was her horses name and what was her life like.
Wonderful photos. It would be fun to be there for a bit.
What I find saddest about those horses were the whacked off tails. Just like they do to the drafts today. Uck. Other than that; they look so calm, collected and elegant. That third horse was gorgeous!
