Julie if that sidesaddle is a sound (not broken) wide tree you might be able to turn a tidy profit so if you can, grab quick. Undersides can be repaired/restuffed, seats can be recovered, not that big of a deal if you know people who know sidesaddle. Regarding the sandwich case and flask - I think I may know who has that on ebay as one of mine I let go years ago had a small stain exactly where the shown case has, and the pewter flask as well. I need to pay more attention to e-bay as I sold everything after losing my horse to cancer (bad decision made in depths of grieving and later regretted).

Sun Valley Sally,

I wish you had a blog so I could know that you would get this - but I will just hope you come back for a visit!

I am not in the market for a sidesaddle anymore since the one I bought (also off of E-bay) fits my gelding! I also know Whippy is one of the best old sidesaddle brands out there too. I wanted to show that both nice and horrible sidesaddle equipment can be attanined off of this sight.

As for you - silly girl...NEVER NEVER NEVER sell your saddle! You may be without a horse in your lifetime, but I was told by my Grandfather that if you sell your saddle, you are giving up riding...so quick - go out and buy another!

A VERY worthwhile quote!

Worse than selling my saddle(s) was I also sold my show rig. Too cheaply. And will never ever be able to afford to replace it as it was really top of the line in perfect shape. I hyperventilated when I saw what the used ones are going for - more than I paid for my former rig new. As for a sidesaddle if my new draft horse matures with a sidesaddle-appropriate back/withers I'll try to find a sidesaddle for him. I'm hoping to connect with anyone who is riding their draft horse aside. PS Julie I grew up with Saddlebreds then switched to a warmblood cross when I got hooked on dressage.

I've seen so much fun people have had with their blogs I'm considering one featuring my draftie. I follow and post occasionally on SBR's forum.
