Okay - so remember the saddle I took a HUGE chance with and bought off of E-bay? I was worried that it might not be a 'real' Champion and Wilton, but it was!...
...I was worried that it might not fit me, but it DOES!...
..and lastly, I was worried it might not fit my horse, but it DOES!!!After what seemed to be a million interruptions of my life, I was finally able to get Chastain and the sidesaddle over to my trainers, to get her opinion. In her words, "Julie, this sidesaddle looks like it was made for Chastain!!!" It is overstuffed, which compensates for his dropped back. It sits perfectly flat on him and it does not pinch him!
I have been holding off on buying a girth, a balance strap and the very expensive Impact saddle pad. Now I can go forward with these other purchases and start to take lessons on him! Yippie!!!

I received this Friendship award today:
..from A Good Horse. It is my very first award for this blog! Thanks!

OH MY GOSH!!! I'm SOOO excited for you!!! Congratz! Seriously, I'm giddy with delight on your behalf. I feel kind of silly for being so delighted but i was REALLY hoping it would turn out to be a good fit all the way around and I am so thrilled that it did!
There is an award for you on my blog, please stop by to pick it up and if you have already received this one, well, you're so nice you got it twice!
Hello, I just clicked over through A Good Horse. I love your blog! Very interesting and informative.
I've recently discovered this blog, and it's very good and interesting! I've wanted to learn sidesaddle for a long time, sadly it's not feasible at this time... but in the future I will!!!!
That's awesome on the saddle! It's so pretty too!
What breed is Chastain? Is he a Saddlebred? He's beautiful, lovely color!
Looking forward to more posts!
