The tight over the face veils are used with a hunter turnout and only with a top hat or bowler, and they do have a function; at the gallop they really do keep your hat on your head. Since when showing western or saddle seat you should wear the same turnout as you would astride with the addition of an apron, veils aren't appropriate. Turnout is always important when showing, but when riding aside it is especially so.Robinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15873896030893234257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8533706630841572685.post-44429403463286884572011-07-01T16:08:59.575-05:002011-07-01T16:08:59.575-05:00Yes, the veil style matters. I can see the purpose of a veil while hunting, but riding a Saddleseat horse or a Western horse is a different kettle of fish.Kaedehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12771580530132454160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8533706630841572685.post-2188510853808019832011-06-30T16:10:33.036-05:002011-06-30T16:10:33.036-05:00Mine just buttons at the back. In fact, I've only seen the button veils for sale here in the UK.sidesaddlegirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01880609395632608422noreply@blogger.com
